Why book an Asbestos Survey with a JC Consultants IP402 Qualified Surveyor?

It is essential for safety, accuracy and reliability to book an IP402 Qualified Surveyor to carry out your survey for you. The IP402 qualification is the International Certification in Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings. This ensure our surveyors are well equipped to locate where asbestos is, or is not in your building and what types of asbestos it is.

We apply the right procedures and safety standards, preventing incorrect results or cross contamination of samples.

We use our comprehensive, robust and easy to understand reporting system so you can quickly understand what the next steps are for your building and how to manage the asbestos. You will then feel confident to write your Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) which is now mandatory under the Health and Safety at Work Regulations for all business owners and people in charge of buisnesses.

If you are a homeowner you might be concerned about the presence of asbestos in your home and want to know how to manage it. JC Consultants provides tailored made asbestos surveying services for both homeowners and businesses.

Do I need an Asbestos Management Plan?

Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) is now mandatory under the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Act 2016. The regulation for this plan was enforced in April 2018.

All business buildings and workplaces whether are now required by law to have an Asbestos Management (AMP). This included all Commercial Buildings and Outlets as well as Residential Landlords.

Anyone who owns or is responsible for running a business is considered a Person Conducting Business of Undertaking (PCBU) and is responsible to enforce a management plan for asbestos.

It is also great idea as a homeowner to have a plan. If you carry any types of work it is your responsibility to protect the people who are doing the work as well as yourself.

What is an Asbestos Management Plan and what does it have to cover?

An Asbestos Management Plan is a document that identifies where the asbestos is in your building. What types of asbestos in each area and what condition it is in and how accessible the asbestos material is.

Your Asbestos Management Plans also needs to detail a plan of how this asbestos is going to be managed.

Your Asbestos Management Plan need to be supplied to any worker that comes onto your site, so you can protect them against exposure to asbestos fibres whilst they carry out their work.
