What is an Asbestos Management Survey?

An Asbestos Management Surveys looks at the whole of your building to record where the Asbestos is, the condition of the Asbestos and make recommendations for its management.

You will then receive a detailed, but easy to read report with plenty of photos documenting these details.

During the survey we can take samples of the Asbestos containing material for testing at an IANZ Accredited Laboratory to confirm what type of Asbestos is present.

If you do not choose Asbestos testing we can presume that identified materials contain Asbestos. If you then need to remove this material from the building at a later day we can then take samples for Asbestos Testing.

Following your Asbestos Management Survey if you choose to, we will work in conjunction with you to create your Asbestos Management Plan.

What is an Asbestos Management Plan?

Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) is now mandatory under the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Act 2016. The regulation for this plan was enforced in April 2018. All commercial building owners have to have a plan by law. This also includes Residential Landlords.

Your Asbestos Management Survey give you all the information to write your Asbestos Management Plan. The plan will identify where the Asbestos is in your building. What types of Asbestos is in each area and what condition it is in and how accessible the asbestos material is.

Your Asbestos Management Plans also needs to detail a plan of how this asbestos is going to be managed.

Your Asbestos Management Plan need to be supplied to any worker that comes onto your site, so you can protect them against exposure to Asbestos fibres whilst they carry out their work.

We can help you put your plan in place.
